Thesocialstudiesteacherwillhavetheresponsibilityfortheplanningandteachingofthesubjecttothedesignatedclass,thecontentofeachlessonbeingdeterminedbytheschoolcurriculumandbytheheadofsocialstudies. Theteacherwillensurethatthesubjectisdeliveredinawaythatprovidescoverage,progressionandcontinuitybyeffectivelyworkingwithaninternationalteachingpartner. Theteacherwillalsoberequiredtocarryoutothersuchdutiesastheheadofjuniorhighorthedeputyheadofjuniorhighmayreasonablydirectfromtimetotime. Theteachermustensurethatanexcellentlearningenvironmentisprovidedforthelearningofsocialstudies,andthatthepupilsdevelopapositiveattitudetothesubjectwithinthecollege. Theteachermustpresentlessonsinastructuredandco-ordinatedmannerwithdueregardtotheabilityofthepupilsandthecurriculumtargetsoftheparticularyeargroup.
