Teaching objectives:
Knowledge objectives
Students will get to know some useful words and expressions such as: how often, twice a week.
Ability objectives:
1. Students can enhance their noting and getting information ability.
2. Students will improve their listening and speaking ability.
Emotional objectives:
1. Students would like to have listening class.
2. Their team work spirit can also be improved by the end of this lesson.
Teaching key point:
Students can get to know some useful words and expressions and grasp the detailed information quickly and correctly.
Teaching difficult point:
Students improve their listening and speaking ability.
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 warming-up (5mins)
Greeting and free talk
Show a picture and ask students to describe what do they do on weekend.
(Justification: lead to today’s topic and arouse students’ interests in learning)
Step 2 pre-listening (8mins)
Group discussion: what do you usually do on weekend? How often do you do it?
(Justification: motivate students’ relative language point to make a good preparation for listening activity.)
Step 3 while-listening (17mins)
Task 1 extensive listening
Listen to the whole dialogue Write down the main idea of the dialogue.
Task 2 intensive listening
Listen to the tape again and try to fill in the table.
(Justification: help student’s to better understand the listening material and train their listening abilities.)
Step 4 Post-listening (8mins)
After listening, work in pairs to make a conversation based on their real condition.
(Justification: to train students’ speaking ability and cultivate their teamwork spirit.)
Step 5 Summary and homework
Review what we have learnt today and ask students to do a survey on their friends daily life. .
(Justification: to consolidate the teaching content of this class.)
